I currently work as a Research Scientist at Oculus Research in Redmond, WA. In June 2016, I completed my PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University working in the Collaborative Haptics and Robotics in Medicine (CHARM) Lab. My research interests include haptics, robotics, dynamic systems and control, mechatronics, and design. A native Californian, I was born and raised in the East Bay before heading to Philadelphia to attend the University of Pennsylvania. I finished undergrad in 2011 and returned to the Bay Area for grad school. In the spring of 2015, I interned at Intuitive Surgical on the Medical Research team developing early-phase interaction features for the master console of the da Vinci surgical robot, and the previous summer I interned at Google as a mechanical engineer on the Camera Team for Street View.
